The 2017 Australian Cross Country Championships are on the 26th August in Wollongong, NSW.
This year, the championships will be split from the School Sport Australia event, which is to be held in Hobart. Due to this, Athletics Australia has made the decision to increase the team sizes that are able to compete in each event. Traditionally only 6 athletes, per gender, could be selected in each of the age groups. For the 2017 edition, teams of up to 16 athletes, per gender, may be selected for the U14 – U18 age groups. For the Open and U20 age groups, selection numbers remain the same, with 6 athletes nominated for a team in each age group, per gender. Additional to this, any number of athletes may enter these age groups as individual runners.
The selection criteria is attached below, as well as the nomination form that must be submitted to the Athletics ACT office by Friday June 16.
Please note that you must be a member of Athletics ACT at the time of the Australian Championships, in order to compete.
